After a big drop of google search traffic in the last week, only now i can see how important is the google.
Hey goog we don`t need the prof to see who is the real monopolist.
Google advices are:
Read the guidelines carefully and there should be no problems.
Some of my sites lost the 70 % of search queries from google and it keeps falling, i have done nothing suspicious, nor i know what could be the problem.

I searched a lot on this problem and i even tried to see if this happened to anybody else.
Google trends shows some interesting information on domains you type, i did this:
najdi.si, 24ur.com, rtvslo.si, siol.net
You may try your own domains or competitors to see the traffic trends, and all i see is the drops, no boosts.

I have no solution and i am hoping like the others, that google will eventually bring back my sites to its position where has it been before.
Here are forum threads on this topic:

I have lost my rankings, Google has dropped me

Wtf can happen in future? Are we gonna have small super fast high explosive gps/sat controlled bombs that will fly anywhere in the world and hit with sure precision.
That would be some dangerous weapon.

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. The Chinese year 4705 begins on Feb. 18, 2007.

Chinese months are reckoned by the lunar calendar, with each month beginning on the darkest day. New Year festivities traditionally start on the first day of the month and continue until the fifteenth, when the moon is brightest. In China, people may take weeks of holiday from work to prepare for and celebrate the New Year.
A Piggy Year

Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal’s year would have some of that animal’s personality. Those born in pig years tend to have excellent manners, make and keep friends, work very hard, and appreciate luxury. They are very loving and make loyal partners. Lucille Ball, Humphrey Bogart, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ernest Hemingway, Alfred Hitchcock, Mahalia Jackson, David Letterman, and Arnold Schwarzenegger were all born in the year of the pig.
Fireworks and Family Feasts

At Chinese New Year celebrations people wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper, and give children “lucky money” in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck. The fireworks that shower the festivities are rooted in a similar ancient custom. Long ago, people in China lit bamboo stalks, believing that the crackling flames would frighten evil spirits.
The Lantern Festival

In China, the New Year is a time of family reunion. Family members gather at each other’s homes for visits and shared meals, most significantly a feast on New Year’s Eve. In the United States, however, many early Chinese immigrants arrived without their families, and found a sense of community through neighborhood associations instead. Today, many Chinese-American neighborhood associations host banquets and other New Year events.

Chinese New Year ends with the lantern festival on the fifteenth day of the month. Some of the lanterns may be works of art, painted with birds, animals, flowers, zodiac signs, and scenes from legend and history. People hang glowing lanterns in temples, and carry lanterns to an evening parade under the light of the full moon.

In many areas the highlight of the lantern festival is the dragon dance. The dragon—which might stretch a hundred feet long—is typically made of silk, paper, and bamboo. Traditionally the dragon is held aloft by young men who dance as they guide the colorful beast through the streets. In the United States, where the New Year is celebrated with a shortened schedule, the dragon dance always takes place on a weekend. In addition, many Chinese-American communities have added American parade elements such as marching bands and floats.

Cell phone networks worldwide are on the brink of becoming sophisticated
weather gauges, researchers say.

For years wireless networks have dealt with impeded signals during rain, snow, fog, or hail. The networks monitor their signals closely and strengthen them as necessary, to maintain a good signal for customers.

As it turns out, this monitoring and subsequent adjusting provides weather information that may be even more precise than methods currently used by meteorologists, says Hagit Messer.

Messer is vice president for research and development at Tel Aviv University in Israel.

“The weather affects the signal strength dramatically,” she said.

If better real-time weather data can be collected, weather prediction will improve, she says.Big Static Means Big Weather

Messer and her team tested the accuracy of cell phone weather data last year and were impressed enough with the results that they have filed a preliminary patent application for the process.

The degree of signal interference, called attenuation, depends on the size and distribution of the rain droplets, according to the Israeli team, whose paper will be published in tomorrow’s issue of the journal Science.

In an experiment during a rainstorm in January 2005, the team collected data every 15 minutes from cell phone networks about signal-strength adjustments.

In Visoko North from Sarajevo there is already 2000-3000 daily visitors who want to see Bosnian Pyramid, the first Pyramid in Europe. I collected some headlines and images from internet.
I surely wanted to know what National Geographic says about Bosna Pyramid, cause i expect a documentary . Well they say nothing important.
on Theage.com.au they say:
“The hill is quite symmetrical, and the theory that it was once a pyramid is supported by preliminary investigations.
If true, it would rewrite world history, putting Europe alongside South America and of course Egypt as homes of ancient pyramids.”
Does Pyramid exists ? Is there a proof ? Well they digging it for sure so time will tell.
“Archeologists and other experts began digging at the central Bosnian town of Visoko last week to explore the theory that the 2,120-foot hill covers a step pyramid, which would be the first found in Europe.”

In the same year, LA’s transport authority renamed its South Bay bus depot the “Arthur Winston division”.

Study: Jesus Walked on Ice, Not Water

Jesus may not have actually walked on water: he may have skated on an
isolated, hard to see piece of ice, according to a study on the weather and water conditions in
northern Israel in Jesus’ time.

Doron Nof, professor of Oceanography at Florida
State University, and colleagues report in the
April issue of the Journal of Paleolimnology
(the study of prehistoric lakes), that a rare
combination of water and atmospheric conditions
in northern Israel could have led to the
formation of “springs ice” on the surface of the
Sea of Galilee, now known as Lake Kinneret.

Nof’s team examined the dynamics of a small
section of Lake Kinneret comprising about 10,000
square feet near the salty springs that empty
into it. Currently, ice may form there only once
every thousand years.

However, temperatures were
much lower in the region 2,000 years ago.

so there was no miracle at all?!? i’m very disappointed , maybe he was on skates, who knows, maybe that was his miracle

Your house powered by pooch poop?

The idea may sound far-fetched, but officials in dog-friendly San Francisco, California, hope to harness the power of methane in doggie doo so it can be used for heating homes and generating electricity.

The technology of turning animal waste into energy was introduced in Europe some 20 years ago. It’s practiced by hundreds of farms there, as well as by 16 U.S. dairy farms.

But San Francisco is believed to be the first U.S. city to explore the energy potential of pet waste.

In a pilot program to start this year, Norcal Waste, a garbage company that collects the city’s trash, plans to use biodegradable bags and dog-waste carts to pick up the poop in one of San Francisco’s most popular dog parks.

The waste will be run through a methane digester, a tank in which bacteria break down the feces to create methane. This biofuel can then be piped directly to a gas stove, heater, or anything else powered by natural gas.

“Scraping dog poop off your shoe, now that’s something most people have been frustrated with for a long time,” said Robert Reed, a Norcal spokesperson.

“Now we have an opportunity to turn this nuisance into something positive.”

From Food Scraps to Dog Doo

Known for its green credentials, San Francisco already uses several recycling programs to divert almost two-thirds of its household garbage away from landfills. The city aims to divert all of its waste from landfills by 2020.

The poop-to-methane project is an extension of another bio-recycling program the city initiated ten years ago, when it began collecting food scraps from houses and restaurants and turning them into fertilizer for vineyards and organic farms.

Today 300 tons (272 metric tons) of food scraps are collected every day from more than 2,000 restaurants and tens of thousands of homes.

The cell phone has become an integral and, for some, essential communications tool that has helped owners gain help in emergencies. Fully 74% of the Americans who own mobile phones say they have used their hand-held device in an emergency and gained valuable help.

Another striking impact of mobile technology is that Americans are using their cell phones to shift they way they spend their time. Some 41% of cell phone owners say they fill in free time when they are traveling or waiting for someone by making phone calls. And 44% say they wait to make most of their cell calls for the hours when they do not count against their “anytime” minutes in their basic calling plan.

At the same time, there are new challenges associated with cell phone use. More than a quarter of cell phone owners (28%) admit they sometimes do not drive as safely as they should while they use their mobile devices. Among cell phone users, men (32%) are more likely than women (25%) to admit they sometimes don’t drive as safely as they should.

Furthermore, 82% of all Americans and 86% of cell users report being irritated at least occasionally by loud and annoying cell users who conduct their calls in public places.

Indeed, nearly one in ten cell phone owners (8%) admit they themselves have drawn criticism or irritated stares from others when they are using their cell phones in public.

For some, the cell phone has become so central to their communications needs that they lose track of the expenses associated with their phones. Some 36% of cell owners say they have been shocked from time to time at the size of their monthly bills.

You can download the full report from here – http://www.pewinternet.org/pdfs/PIP_Cell_phone_study.pdf

                [...]

At the Bristol Robotics Laboratory in England, researchers are designing
their newest bug-eating robot—Ecobot III.

The device is the latest in a series of small robots to emerge from the lab that are powered by a diet of insects and other biomass.

“We all talk about robots being able to do stuff on their own, being intelligent and autonomous,” said lab director Chris Melhuish.

“But the truth of the fact is that without energy, they can’t do anything at all.”

Most robots today draw that energy from electrical cords, solar panels, or batteries. But in the future some robots will need to operate beyond the reach of power grids, sunlight, or helping human hands.

Melhuish and his colleagues think such release-and-forget robots can satisfy their energy needs the same way wild animals do—by foraging for food.

“Animals are the proof that this is possible,” he said.

Bug-munching Bots

Over the last decade, Melhuish’s team has produced a string of bots powered by sugar, rotten apples, or dead flies.

The biomass is converted into electricity through a series of stomachlike microbial fuel cells, or MFCs.

Living batteries, MFCs generate power from colonies of bacteria that release electrons as the microorganisms digest plant and animal matter. (Electricity is simply a flow of electrons.)

The lab’s first device, named Slugbot, was an artificial predator that hunted for common garden slugs.
